The palatial mansion stood huge as its great artistic walls made it visible at the summits. The trees that surrounded the place made it look like a hidden paradise. It was situated on a hilly area such that everyone who paid residence to the area would perceive its rooftops. At the metallic electronic gate entrance, one would view the international standard swimming pool and a dozen nude strippers. As new time visitors to the place, we were marveled at the great sight of the ‘hidden insides’. All we saw before we ever had this great chance to get here was the rooftop chimney and the great walls surrounding the palace. Nothing more would be made credible of what lay inside the mansion.
We met this gigantic soldier whose appearance sent chills through the backbone to the popliteal fossa of our humble making. He was a giant of a man with great shoulders equipped with oak beam arms. His face was a product of multiple gang fights and a protruding scar on the left cheek could send a message. Not a good message though. He turned his face towards us as we approached the gate. He glanced at us as if calculating the momentum needed for us to escape the premises. He had adorned the country’s official Army Uniform complemented with white gloves on both arms. We were inside a Mercedes S-Class vehicle, which was used for ferrying people in and out of the premises. The vehicle halted at the soldier’s place. The soldier bowed down at the driver’s place and saluted after recognizing the chauffer.

She kept banging the doors and making those grunting noises to be released by the man who had termed himself as ‘the collector’. She couldn’t imagine what was about to happen to her. Worse thoughts of rape and torture rushed through her mind as she continued kicking her legs on the dashboard and twisting her neck in that torticollis-like way in a bid to free herself. The driver stopped the vehicle at a certain rather dark place where trees had bend over covering the road as if bowing down in prayer. He opened the door and walked out towards the side of the lady and opened the front door. Even before she asked anything, she received blows and abuses hurled furiously against her. The guy pulled her outside in the dark and slapped her thighs as he made sure he curbed her mouth fully to succumb her screams to the depth of silent moans.
She is the refined one. One with a charming beauty. Her sight always fascinates since she just leaves one breathless. She is the shadow that always appears in your dreams making you have sleepless nights. The power of her sight is an estimate of a fortune that leaves you a devastated pauper. She is that lucky star that always lead the shepherds to Baby Jesus manger.
She has these long brushed curled hair .She is the potter’s most favourite clay pot; moulded and remoulded to impress the eye of a king. She is an expensive jewel that is always an expense
Back in the days, women were respected, upheld and viewed as the face of community; nowadays things seem to be completely changing. In those old days, women had special roles at different stages of life. In marriage especially, the woman was supposed to be loyal same to the man. Her job included common household duties e.g. cooking, fetching firewood, thatching houses among sharpening the female child’s feminine abilities. The men were to look for food, offer security to family, go hunting and teach the young boys the art of being a ‘man’. Loyalty in marriage was prominent and was regarded as a taboo for a woman to be caught cheating on her husband. When the husband died, the brother to the husband was to take over and assume the roles of his late brother.
In the 21st century, most of them are very different. They have changed. With the achievement made towards the advancement of women throughout history and around Africa, women have really changed. Some have changed to the best while some have changed to the worst.
The female regime seems to be overwhelming and soaring in greater altitudes from their vanquished states in the early 80s and 90s. Years back, women were belittled and subservient and small creatures who needed protection. However, nowadays, things are different.
The patriarchal dominance has been deteriorating day by day as the females become more influential and powerful. The boy child has started diminishing and his rights are becoming extinct nowadays. The female chauvinists have come in greater numbers and are projecting for their rights. What about the male child? We have always depended on the scarce ‘Kazi kwa vijana’ money of which some have never get.
The commissions that have come up for women empowerment are articulating strongly for additional females’ rights. What about the boys’ rights? I think we are been ‘dumped’ gradually. Groups like ‘chama cha wanawake’, ‘rights for the girl child’, ‘wanawake FIDA’, E.C.W.D. etc. are becoming prevalent.
Glancing at the population, it’s overwhelming as they are in large numbers compared to men.
